Sealing

Updated: Mar 5, 2018

Once I finish painting my sculptures and I am happy with the result, I make sure to coat and seal them, so that they won’t be ruined or peeled off accidentally. For coating I use a gloss varnish which is originally used for Fimo. I found that this varnish behaves well over acrylic paints and doesn't smear them. Once this layer is dry, I add a coat of mod podge. This seals the sculpture completely. It might take off a tiny bit of the gloss, but it is OK. The sculpture still remains glossy enough. Make sure to let the sculpture dry completely after each phase! This is very important; your patience will pay off :-)
